Dr. Ramon Cugat Bertomeu is an orthopedic and sports injuries specialist and the director of the Orthopedics Surgery and Traumatology Department at Quironsalud Barcelona Hospital. Dr. Ramon Cugat worked as a voluntary assistant physician at the Catalan Regional Delegation of the Mutualidad de Futbolistas Españoles from August 5, 1975, to October 1982. He joined Mutua Patronal Montañesa for work accidents N17 Delegation in Catalonia as a traumatologist and orthopedic physician. He then became the Head of the Traumatology and Orthopedics Department at the same institution. Dr. Ramon Cugat worked as an assistant traumatologist and orthopedic physician at the Institute of Orthopaedics British Postgraduate Medical Federation, University of London. In 1979, he worked as a visiting physician at the Department of Prof. Rodney S. Sneath at the Royal Orthopedic Hospital of Birmingham. Dr. Ramon Cugat also received the title of Medical Specialist in Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery in 1979. In 1980, he became the Head of the Orthopedics Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. In the same year, he also collaborated with Dr. Bertram Zarins ( Head of Sports Medicine at Harvard University). Dr. Ramon Cugat became a founding member of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association and served as the chairman from 1993 to 1995. In 1985, he achieved the position of a Traumatologist as well as Interim Team Leader of the Catalan Regional Delegation. Dr. Ramon Cugat Bertomeu has also worked at the Arthroscopy Laboratory of the Department of Morphological Sciences and Odonto-Stomatology at the University of Barcelona. He joined Hospital del Mar in Barcelona as the director of the Traumatology and Orthopedics unit. Since January 1991, he has been serving as a medical advisor to the President of the Catalan Football Federation.
